About us
Beartramka was formed by composer David Gough and harpist Danielle Perrett in 1999 in response to a need for some music for the harp which fulfilled the particular criteria of the Trinity College London harp exam syllabuses which Danielle was compiling.
In particular, the Lever harp/Clarsach (i.e. non-pedal harp) syllabus was being greatly expanded, and there was little suitable music available to put into the syllabus, so we wrote some, commissioned some, and entered the music publishing business.
For a number of years, we continued to add to the repertoire of exam pieces, which are still used by Trinity College London and other harp syllabuses.
More importantly, though, we added to the general repertoire of music for both Pedal and Lever Harps. We also expanded our range to cover all ranges from beginner to advanced, and we added recordings to our activities, of which there are three available.
We introduced digital downloads of scores and books of music, especially to help those in countries far from the UK, where the cost of sending printed music is often prohibitive.
Life moves on, however, and we are no longer producing printed music, but the digital downloads are still available from this website.
Please see the Books of Music and Sheet Music for more details.
Our recordings are still available to buy from this website as physical CD format.
